We analysed 1,446 SA property videos on TikTok, 129 million plays between them, and one in five was a photo slideshow.
Recent South African property posts on TikTok, 16 July to 13 October 2026: 671 posts in our sample, play counts as TikTok showed them in October 2026. Photo slideshows were below videos in all 6 search batches. This shows a pattern, not proof that switching to video causes it.
